Giro d’Italia Donne: Organisers limit live television broadcast to final 15km of each stage

Giro d’Italia Donne organisers have confirmed that they will provide a live television and streaming broadcast of the 10-day event, however, the only racing that fans can expect to see will be the last 15 kilometres of each stage, held from July 2-11. 

The event organisers have confirmed to Cyclingnews that the UCI approved the live broadcasting of the final 15km of each stage because it fits inside a broader live 60-minute package that also includes the podium ceremony and post-race rider interviews and analysis.

The U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials, the final meet to determine the team for Tokyo, airs live starting Thursday on NBC Sports, Olympic Channel, NBCOlympics.com and Peacock.

In addition to TV coverage, NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app will have a supplemental stream for each competition session, featuring a multi-view of all apparatuses in use (two per rotation for women, three for men).

Journalist tells viewers on live TV that he hasn’t been paid

Kalimina Kabinda interrupted his news broadcast on Zambia’s KBN TV on June 19 to say, “away from the news, ladies and gentlemen, we are human beings. We have to get paid.”

“Unfortunately, on KBN we haven’t been paid,” he said, adding that his colleagues were also due payment: “Everyone else haven’t been paid, including myself. We have to get paid.”

Kabinda posted a clip of the broadcast on Facebook, writing in the caption: “Yes I did that on live TV, just because most journalists are scared to speak out doesn’t mean journalists shouldn’t speak out.”
